RESERVE POLICE OFFICERS

Job Description:  The City of Rhome is the fastest growing area in Wise County.  The Rhome Police Department is accepting applications for Reserve Police Officers to help with the growing population.  Candidates must possess a basic TCLEOSE Peace Officer certification, valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record, high school diploma or GED.  Candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen, and psychological.  Applications may be picked up at Rhome City Hall, 105 West 1st Street, Rhome, TX   76078.  For further information please call - 817 636-2400.


Bias Profiling

It will be the policy of the Rhome Police Department not to condemn any citizen contacts based solely on race and address any violation of this policy with appropriate employees.

Definitions:

BIAS BASED PROFILING: Bias based profiling means law enforcement initiated action based on an individual’s race, ethnicity, or national origin rather than on the individual’s behavior or on information identifying the individual as having engaged in criminal activity.

RACE OR ETHNICITY: Race or ethnicity means a particular descent, including Caucasian, African, Hispanic, Asian, or Native American descent.

ACTS OF BIAS BASED PROFILING: Acts of bias based profiling include traffic and pedestrian stops based on an individual’s race or ethnicity rather than the individual’s action or based upon reasonable suspicion.

PROHIBITION OF BIAS BASED PROFILING
All peace officers employed by the Rhome Police Department are strictly prohibited from engaging in bias based profiling.
